Taking ID Photos-Can A Non-Pro Do It?

You have been tasked to take pictures for the identification cards for the company where you are working for. Taking pictures for ID cards is never your thing although you have some experience in photography. And now you're wondering how you are going to do this right since you couldn't say no to your boss. Below, you will find great ideas on how to capture beautiful pictures for your company ID cards.

Light

You already know what photography means because of your basic experience in photography. In photography, lighting is one of the most crucial elements. In photography, sunlight is the best source of lighting. Whether there is little sunlight or no sunlight at all streaming into your office, you still need to make do of what is available. To prevent washing out one's features, make sure that you avoid fluorescent lighting. In taking pictures, full spectrum lights are recommended. Shadows on ID pictures may be visible if you don't have enough lighting. These are ID photos, so remember that they are not dramatic studio shots.

Relax

This applies for both you and the person that you are going to take the picture of. It would be hard for you to get it right if you let your guards down. Why not start a conversation with the person for you to establish rapport and relax a bit? You can prepare to take the picture when the person has started to relax.

Angles

There is no angle needed in ID photography other than just facing the camera directly. It is possible to tilt the head just a bit for making the angle flattering. Tilting the head too much might add weight to the face. It is important to know that there is no such thing as naturally photogenic. To make the ID picture look more natural, try practicing in front of the camera to know what angle is best for you.

Hair and Make Up

It is best to have a light make up for women when there is an ample lighting inside the studio. It would not be nice to see your face with too much foundation. Natural look is still the best look that you can get during picture taking. Hair should be worn in such a way as it is usually worn at work. The person should of course look and appear professional in the camera as well. Taking pictures wherein the individual is wearing sleeveless shirts and tank tops with an outrageous hair colors will not be tolerated.

Once the picture taking is done, the next step would be to print the photos. Printing photos would be easier if done with trusted brands like Fargo printer and Zebra printer. These brands are quite expensive though, but the quality is superb compared to generic ones. Moreover, topnotch models of Zebra and Fargo printers are being sold in the online market for a cheaper price.
