Film Photography Tricks

Cheap (VERY CHEAP) way to develop my own photos?
I want to get into photography, have all the tools (good film camera, lenses, film, and space). Since I really want to get into the art of it, i want to make a darkroom....problem is...I have very little to no funds. I do have good places in my house for a darkroom, and get get a hold of simple things like a safelight, trays, and chemicals to start with. Is there anything else that would be as simplistic as possible but still get the job done without a lot of money. I also think that having to get stuff processed is useless, and am not very fond of having people i don't know see what I'm *attempting* to do...it makes me feel weird. So any thing really about darkroom, processing, materials, and tricks would be fantastic. Thanks a lot in advance =]
Developing just the film does NOT require an expensive darkroom setup.
You can develop B&W film with $20 of chemistry and a $10 hand tank. You can send out color print film to local labs for negatives only. The cost is often less than $3 for no print development.
Don't let the "naysayers" scare you off. Film is still cheaper than digital for artists.
