Flash Photography Faq

flash photography faq
How strict is the camera policy at Vancouver Canucks games?

The FAQ on the Rogers Arena site states:
"For hockey games there is NO flash photography or video recording. Any cameras with detachable lens or any professional lens that exceeds 75 mm will be confiscated or taken to our Guest Services Centres. Any items stored at the Guest Services Centre is at your own risk."

I've taken a Canon Digital Rebel with 55-250mm lens (about 6" extended) to Sharks games in San Jose without any problems, so when I read the Rogers Arena FAQ I thought it sounded a bit strict.

Has anyone with a low end DSLR like mine been turned away or had it confiscated? If there's a possibility of it I'll just leave it at the hotel but if not I'd like to get some photos with something other than my phone. :-

Call them and ask. They tend to put this info up for a reason. I'd leave it in the hotel, enjoy the game and download a few pics of it the next day.
