Photography Awards Pulitzer
what is the highest photography honor/award?
i know Pulitzer is for like journalism and writing, but is there a national/world-wide award recognizing photography??
The Professional Photographers of America (the reigning authorative national body that oversees the business dealings, ethics, and legal needs of professional photographers) host several big national print competitions. I'd say winning at those is about the tip of the iceberg for most professional photographers.
As for highest "honor," I'd have to say the Master Photographer certification would be it, also issued by PPA, which can only be obtained after years of study, winning at big national competitions, putting in teaching hours to other photographers, and passing rigorous exams.
