Photography Copyright Infringement Cases
How ;long do you think it will be before we see news of a case like this with Photography?

This level of enforcement will only happen if somebody hacks Getty or Corbis - simply because you and I could not afford the lawyers necessary to pursue a case to this extent. Her defense lawyer was probably from a foundation like the Fair Use Project, the firm that is pursuing S. Fairey's suit against AP and Mannie Garcia (Obama poster photog.) The RIAA can of course afford any attorney they wish.
I see downloading a song as the same act as infringing on a photo copyright, or plagiarizing written material or grabbing cash someone left lying around in their own house. It is the act of taking what I know does not belong to me and that I have no right to. In short, STEALING. That someone can "afford" it is no reason, let alone an excuse.
