Photography Cropping Techniques

photography cropping techniques
if you want to go to uni to study photography, do you need a slr digital camera?

my plan is, study black and white techniques, learn photo editing, cropping, tinting, toning etc at college, i'm hoping to do basic and advanced photography, this and next year, then get at place at uni, after next summer

i can take quality photo's on my cam phone, is that all i need for college, i know how to take pics from different angles, am comfortable with taking group or solo shoots, can do it indoors or outside.

i am trying to think, which is the most social, if i take this up professionally in a couple years

i was thinking maybe sports, parties which i am sortve used to, clubs never experienced that, weddings, animals, festivals as in carnivals and guy fawkes night etc

Yes, although some institutes have slr's to borrow, it is always best to learn and practice with your own camera because no one else will know your model unless they have the same one. Plus you won't have the worry of a camera being unavailable.

When I was studying, they supplied film cameras and darkroom stuff as well as studio space and equipment, and everyone had their own digital slr
