Photography Cs4

how do i make a logo in photoshop cs4 for my photography?
i made it with text but idk how to put it on my pics and im afraid the white background will get in the pic soooo how do i do it?
Click the Text button (a "T") and start to type your photography name, when you have your image open that you want to put your logo on.
Then duplicate that layer, and change the font color to black (unless you want your main logo color black, then change to a different color...well actually it doesn't HAVE TO be black, this layer is just creating a backdrop shadow)
Then move the "shadow" layer below the original text layer (your logo)
the the "move tool" and move it down a little bit, and over (left or right, you decide) a little bit too.
Now you can leave it how it is, giving it that "3d" look, or you can continue and create the shadow.
Now go to Filter > Gaussian Blur
It will ask you to simplify, and click yes.
depending on how big your logo will be, blur the black, and it will come to be a shadow. (You can then after that, lower the opacity of the shadow if you feel)
Then click the shadow layer, then press and hold down shift, and select the 1st logo layer, and Merge those layers.
YOUR DONE!
And if you wanna make it a watermark, just change the layer blending mode (I think its linear burn, but i'm not 100% sure)
And yes, you can create this in a blank, new document too
just save it as a brush, so you can open your images you want the logo to be on, and click the brush tool, and click once with your new brush you've created.
