Should I buy a Nikon or Canon DSLR?
All of my photography gear got stolen and the insurance company is handing me a check. Photography has been a hobby of mine for a long time but I want to get more serious about it.
I was a Nikon film guy. When I converted to digital 7 years ago, Canon had a superior product so I thought it was worth it to start over. Today it's a different story. They both have incredible technology built in to their cameras and I would not say one is better than the other. It's truly a matter of preference. Go to a store where you can hold them both in your hand and try thumbing through their menus to see if one speaks to you. If you know what you are going to be shooting it will help your decision making process.
