Photography Golden Section

the golden section.. use of it in photography/art?
i need help on this topic big time.. its way too complex! can someone tell me about it and how it is used in photography?
The rule of thirds is a simplification of that. Putting something in the center might put 0.44617 on each side of the subject. Think about how that would sound as a musical note; move your finger 44617% of the way to the next note on a violin. I won't dare imagine how that sounds. Now move it 1.171 of the way up, that's called a minor seventh!
Now back to pictures, paintings, the pantheon etc. If you place it on the side a little, the middle of that section is 1/1.171 to the rest of the frame. notice how 0.171 is not quite 3/4. Where that 0.25 would be very stiff and chunky, the 0.171 is a very elegant proportion.
We like it because it appears in nature. Faces, beauty, what we see as "this person has good genes and I wish to mate with them" is all in the golden ratio in their face and body. If you want to read more into that part look up articles from V.S. Ramachandran or David Buller.
