night photography tips and tutorials please?

hi i purchased a new DSLR
just because of my interest in night photography
what i want know is , How these pictures are taken ?

what aperture , ISO , shutter speed must used in night photography

what i want to know is how light effect appears after vehicle left on that roads ?
what is process going IN THE CAMERA

Better buy a tripod to go with it then because you'll need one.

ISO - around 200
Aperture - f5.6 to f11 or so
Shutter speed - depends on the ambient lighting where you are shooting & what you want to capture. Start with around 3-8 secs & go from there.

You also may need to manually focus as AF systems tend to 'hunt' in the dark.

Buying a remote release makes the job easier, but you can get away with using the self timer.
