Privacy laws & photography?
This "artist" came to my school and was showing his upcoming work. He was taking photos of screen captures from chatroulette and various chat sites. Then, he would photograph the computer screen.
I thought this was ridiculous, and he could get sued if he were to publish this in a book and sell the books, and make any sort of profit from this. He was not asking these peoples permission, he was simply capturing their image from the live video.
What are the laws regarding this?
Nothing whatsoever to do with privacy laws as the people are on a public chat site and have therefore foregone any "right" of privacy.
the "artist" (how can that be art?) however could have problems with the site and copyright laws.
