Photography Outside Lighting

Photography Lighting Ideas?

I have a photography project due tomorrow for my class that deals with light. Which means different types of light and different light sources. I planned on doing it outside, but its storming today. What are some good ideas I could do inside? (I don't have all the fancy lighting equipment). Thanks.

You can use some constant lights (lamps, floodlights, halogens) and a white card to diffuse and reflect it onto your subject. It makes for a great soft lighting technique. You can also do the same thing if you take your flash off the camera (provided you can) and bounce it off the white card. Reflectors work great for getting less direct lighting onto the subject. Consider the mood you're trying to create with the lighting, then consider the sources of it. It could be a flashlight and long exposure, candles, one of those cool lightning balls, a laser pointer, a strobe light. There are many possibilities. Start with subject, then mood, then pick appropriate lighting to achieve that mood. Good Luck.
