New How Do You Take A Screenshot

Please note that I am like Firefox Extensions beneath the category of 'tools'. In fact, amount five will be the only tool you'll be able to use without Firefox!

When I published my 1st ebook, I didn't want a 3D ebook cover. All I wanted was a flat image with big writing on the top, like the copies of print book covers you see on Amazon and all the booksellers' sites. Following Googling and downloading some totally free software (nothing much more than 3D boxes most of them) and a lot of experimentation, trial and error, I produced my ebook cover image on Word. I featured one of my own photographs and applied Word Art graphics to create the titles. It was totally absolutely free and my ebook has taken its location in the Amazon digital charts without having disgracing itself. Since then I've made ebook covers in several ways, all of them totally free. Here's a step by step guide to generating your own ebook covers:

1. VERY SIMPLE EBOOK COVER Photograph or image with title and author name underneath.

5. Notepad++ | Text Editor

Even when working in a WordPress environment, I code in Notepad++ then paste it over into the WordPress HTML view. It colour codes your code, and has collapsible divs. You may also highlight 1 div, and it'll locate it's partner! A need to for those of us with... messy coding habits.

Advantages: Clear, unfussy and does the job.

a) First come across your ebook cover image. If you may have no appropriate photographs you've taken (or can take) yourself, there are plenty of royalty-free Photography Sites. If you'd rather have artwork, obtain an image you like on 1 of the artists' central sales internet sites (eg saatchi-gallery) and ask the artist's permission to make use of their work in return for a credit on the inside page. They could properly be delighted to obtain the extra (free) publicity for their work. A cut and paste image from their web site (once you have got written permission) will work fine.

b) Transfer the image from your photo files (or web source as soon as you've obtained permission) to your desktop. Open a blank WORD document. Click INSERT > PICTURE and upload your ebook cover image.

4. ColorZilla

Ever had a predicament where you view a website and just LOVE 1 of their colour choices? What about when the graphic designer sends you an image mock-up devoid of telling you some thing as easy as what the colour of the navigation is supposed to be? Sure you can take a screenshot of the internet site you like, load it into Photoshop, and use the eyedropper tool to come across out what the color is, but what a hassle!

3. FireShot

c) Size it appropriately and form your title and author name underneath.

In order for it to be accepted by the computer system as an IMAGE, take a screenshot of the ebook cover.

TO MAKE A THUMBNAIL EBOOK COVER FOR THE SALES SITES:

Your cursor turns into a cross. Place that at top left corner of one's ebook cover image and drag it to bottom right. Release the buttons. You'll now discover an image file in your desktop. Make sure it's labelled.jpg (this is very important, with out the dot along with the jpg label the image won't load). To re-label click on the description box until it goes blank & form in a title eg budgie.jpg). Your ebook cover thumbnail is now prepared to upload to sales sites.

Need to take a screenshot of the final site to use inside your portfolio? Want to send a client an image of the shadowsite, prior to letting them mess about within the actual thing and point out the obvious ("this link doesn't work yet, waahhhhhh") areas that haven't been implemented yet? FireShot makes it easy to take a screenshot of regardless of whether the visible area, or the entire site with 1 click!

2.

If you'd rather imitate a print book cover and have your titles OVER the images it's somewhat extra complicated. You'll have to invest time fiddling about until it looks specifically right, but it is possible to do it.

a) Get your image onto a WORD document page as before.

b) Click Word Art.
