Photography Portfolio Theme?
I'm just about to start my first photography portfolio and I'm stuck for a theme, I've tried browsing the web but I'm still not quite sure, pleaseeee help! you can email answers to : alt071146@aol.com or on here. Thanks.
Does a portfolio need a theme? If its aimed at prospective clients or as an entry into some genre of photography then yes, but if its for yourself then it should just be a collection your best pictures.
Often you may want to show the breath of your repertoire and will use as many as you can.
Every year for the last 5 years I've made a yearbook of my best 20 - 40 images, its good to look back on how I've grown. Sometimes the same location has been used and its revealing to see how my interpretation has changed.
