Photography Rain Gear

What camera is right for me? (Landscape)?
Ok, I would like to start photography but can not decide on which camera is right for me. I do not want it to be a beginner camera nor a pro camera.
I am interested in Landscape (nature) photography.
My budget right now is about 1,000 USD. I plan on buying the "three lenses" that everyone seems to talk about. (ND, Polarizer, and a graduated ND filter)
What camera would you recommend? I can go a couple hundred over 1,000 USD if really needed but I would prefer not to.
I would also like to note I plan on moving out on my own soon so this would be a way to make extra income. I plan on becoming a professional photographer with my own photography store in the future...
Also, would you recomend any protective gear for the camera? I plan on getting some shots while overnight backpacking, bad heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc. (Wilderness of Montana, Idaho, etc.)
I think I have decided to go with the Canon 50D...
