Please help! Conceptual Photography - 'Nothing'?

For a university project I have been asked to take a conceptual photograph of 'nothing'. I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for it. I've looked up 'nothing' in the dictionary and thesaurus to help and found things such as absence, somebody/something of not importance, lack of something.

Id be very greatful for any ideas. They do not want us to turn up with something simple for example a blank piece of paper or a photograph of a blank wall. They want something which represents 'nothing'. A photograph with a hidden meaning.

Please help!
