Photography White Box
I'm building my own softbox, what bulb should i use?
I've recently decided to build a basic softbox for a product photography project. I'm using a shoes box lined with tinfoil with a white sheet acting as the diffuser. I bought a halogen bulb for my light but the temperature is too warm. I know a fluorescent bulb gives off a cooler light but i've been told you can't fit a dimmer to this type of bulb. Is this true and if so what other options do I have?

Thanks for your time, you've all given me some good ideas, however, I am unsure whether you can fit a dimmer switch to a lamp with fluorescent bulb. Can anyone advise?
You're gonna need a bigger box. Or more of them.
You can get daylight-balanced (5000K - 6500K) compact fluorescent bulbs now at a good lighting or hardware store (Home Despot, Lowe's). They only output 100W equivalent each as far as I've been able to find, so you might need a couple of them. Nice color, very little heat (unlike that halogen bulb that'll set your kit on fire). Usually under $10 each.
You could even get something like what I've linked to below at a hardware store and put a diffuser in front of it.
EDIT:
Looking around online, I've found 150W output 6500K compact fluorescent bulbs. Search on "compact fluorescent daylight 150W" or "compact fluorescent daylight 150W 6500K".
