Series Photography Definition

series photography definition
What is the name of the following photography technique?

A series of photos are taken automatically and they are then layered using some post processing software. The original photos are taken with different settings (Lens open longer, normal and short). The resulting image has a lot more definition and colour.

Your help is appreciated.

Jamie

I think you mean high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR). You take three exposures of the same image; one lighter, one standard, and one darker. In post-processing, you layer them so you get more highlights and shadows. It's pretty cool stuff. To see some pictures with this style, go to http://www.flickr.com/groups/hdr/ .
